I will probably be going to Blanca during Memorial Weekend. I can't make it up all the way (can do 6 of the 8 miles)and most of us can't, but it is ussually fun to watch other people who can.

Jeff.
I did that trail (at least the first part) a few years ago. It's one of the sickest trails I've seen to date.

There was a 4runner that rolled down the mountain (on Jaws I think) the day after we passed it. We saw it sitting at the trailhead on our way out. We talked to a passerby who saw it happen and she said it went all the way to the bottom. Needless to say the runner was destroyed. The driver was O.K but he had to be towed out to the trailhead. I think I have a picture of it but I'll have to find it.

E,

I went on the trail last July and it was fun. Jaws two is now filled in with rocks because somebody rolled off and was killed a year or so ago. On jaws one there was a guy with his ATV next to it. He was riding the trail the night before and didn't see the rock coming and flew off the trail into the gulley 30ft of so down, probably the same spot your talking about, anyways he was there all night until a group with winches came and pulled his ATV out. I was amazed though his ATV started right up and had very minimal damage.

Hey Jeff,
By the way I want to hook up sometime and take a look at your rig. Specifically your rear storage area. I find that I never have enough room for everything and want to build something similiar.

Erik,

Sounds good. I'm not home very often with grad school in Denver and work, but we could meet up some time.

Hey guys, I got my pics back today, and they turned out awesome!

I wanted to ask though, do you want your license plate numbers removed before I post them on the net? They will be on my webshots account, and therefore viewable by anyone.

I am going to start loading pics right now and will get the link up very soon. I will put off pics of your rigs until you let me know about the license plate thing.

No worries here. If you feel like spending the time doing it go ahead, but it doesn't really matter to me.

Clear Creek County doesn't require the use of ethanol gas, it's outside the EPA mandate zone, so you're getting 100% "pure" gas up there, which means better mileage.

We also filled at BP. My friend told me they put cleaners and other things into the fuel. I also got pretty good gas mileage.

What do you think of the pics? I am done uploading now. I even added captions below them.

Dang straight. Jesus. By the time I saw steve up and was cheering I hear your engine right over my shoulder.

Not even Etoy could snap off pics of you in time. He has one or two up I believe. Maybe you should get stuck next time, that'll give us some time... Or atleast pretend to.

you were playing around at high altitude right? since there's less oxygen up there, the ecu leans out the mixture and you get better milage. for example: in my subaru i usually get on the order of 25mpg for highway driving. however if i go up berthoud pass to go to winterpark, i usually get 33mpg on that tank. the only difference is the altitude. especially, since going up the pass i'm usually full throttle in 3rd gear, i should be buring more gas.
