Honestly, I do not care if I run old or new trails.
I agree with Jim again. I also look forward to runnin the tough trails with similar built YotaTech friends. Easy trails are all over and can be found in any spot we choose. So Adrian your correct in focusing of what difficult trails can be had near an area.

Chinamans, Holy Cross, Wheeler and Red Cone\Glacier Ridge would be the top trails in the state for me. All are totally doable for the majority of our runners, yet offer a fair amount of difficulty. I have been thinking about other areas. I do know of other nice runs in the state that offer these challenges, but it would leave us with only one good run for the weekend. Based on the proximity to other trails.

I consider the Red Cone, Radical, Glacier Ridge run an "epic" run that offers a little of everything in one day. I would really like to see our group add this run.

So based on that, the best alterative I can come up with for a camp spot is the Kenosha Pass area on hwy 285 one hour outside of Denver. Chinamans and Wheeler are about 45min-1hr away and the Red Cone\Glacier trailhead is nearby. As well as the moderate Twin Cone trail. Holy Cross would be too far though.

I'll check out the facilities. I know there is a group site right on top of Kenosha Pass and nearby at the Timberline group campground. I think the problems with national forest group sites is that even though they can accommodate plenty of people. The rules only say you can have 10-20 vehicles. The amount of rigs will be a problem for us. I'll look into it. I have the ph. #'s to the rangers there.

So, staying in Buena Vista, we could hit:

Hard: Holy Cross, Iron Chest, Chinamen's

Moderate: Red Cone/Radical Hill/Grizzly Ridge, Wheeler

Scenic: Mount Antero, ???, ???

I agree with Jeff about wearing a place out, but the campground and the trails out of Buena Vista really are good IMHO.

I cannot remember what other moderate and scenic trails we have done, need to find other options. My folks me be out with a rig, so the Seqouia could be rocking some scenic stuff for a day or two.

That's awesome! Do we get to modify it? 3" of lift, lockers and 35's on a Sequoia would be sweet.
