DOUUUGGGGGGG,
your alive, woooohooooooo glad to see you found your way back lol....
ok i personally would like to stay away from the "easy" trails. yes mine is also my daily driver.. if i only wanted to do easy trails, id sell the 4runner and buy a subaru
but on the other hand, i do not want to run Penrose in the 4runner, lol
Something with a little challenge would be nice, these toyotas are tougher then you think.
I am good with any trails the group decides on, "its not what your doing, but who your doing it with" that makes it fun.
I agree 100%

Hopefully if it all works out and we can all play nice it will be a good thing

This is extremely unofficial, but Im gonna say a date and place, please say any disagreements.
August 25th(friday) through 27th/28th(sunday/monday) in Glenwood Springs. Trails possible are in the list I stated earlier, and any others that somebody may know of.
I agree with Mojo_Risin, we should hold off on lodging arangments until place and date is settled.

I think you should give it a little more time and let a few more people chime in before you finalizeanything (this thread is only a day or 2 old and being mid-winter a lot of regulars probably aren't visiting the trip planning section as often)

For those on the Harder to most definitly hardest core side, if glenwood is the selection I can put you on a section of trail that will give you a true test (winch and both locked required). I will need a driver that is willing to let me shotgun 'cause there's no way I want to bring my (not hardcore) rig on it.
Also, I mentioned the 3 day weekend for purely that reason. I do agree that there will be plenty of other folks out there at the same time. Must of the crowds tend towards the more senic areas, which even the most stock driver I run with from this board could go beyond. I did schofield pass (the punchbolw IS as sacary as they make it out to be) two labor day weekends ago and it wasn't crowded at all, but there were a few traffic jams down lower.

Missed last year's J... but will try to make this year's, summers fill up fast. For those mulling the organizing: Some 4x4 groups put "events" along the trail runs... It does not have to be as extreme as the "Camel Trophy" contest but it could be an idea...here is some wacky events that another group did: http://www.offroadexperience.com/nvtr04scoring.htm
See you in the mountains of Colorado...

So mid to late August it is.
I was just told by a veteran CO wheeler that.. "every year some people try pushing back the time frame a few weeks because of school/college but it never happens".

Most people try to move it FORWARD because of school, etc. The problem that usually arises then is if a popular venue is picked, other groups have events and trails get really crowded.
Again, good luck to all planners and well wishes to all attendees.

FWIW, there will be a weekend in June mixed with social time, a day of harder wheeling and a day of easier wheeling. No camping will be involved, just wheeling, goofing and socially enjoying eachother.
