CO - Spring Creek-Kingston Peak Oct. 12

Colorado Folks,
Looks like Darren and I will be wheelin Spring Creek trail then Kingston Peak road on Sunday Oct 12 with some camping action along Kingston Sun. night.

Anyone interested, meet at the Pteradactyl park and ride lot along I-70 just west of C-470 at 7:30a on Sunday (Ptera. lot is the small lot up near the gas station)

Spring Creek is a ton of fun.

Extra points if you go through the garden at the top! If nothing else, it is pretty cool to watch the big rigs come through.

The vistas when you prepare to head back down the mountain at the end of the trail are pretty good, but I know Colorado has some better ones.

hhog,

Spring creek is quite a challenge, but definitly doable. As Flygtenstein mentioned, there is at least one spot, the rock garden, that I'm thinking most of us will bypass and another large obstacle thats completely optional. Both trails are listed in the Colorado 4X4 Trails book, Spring creek in vol. 1, and Kingston in vol. 2.

I did Sring Creek last week minus the two tough spots with a fabtech front coilover, OME medium rear coils and springs, 265/75's and NO SLIDERS. I may have kissed the underbelly once or twice. With a group of us (spotters wanted) I'm sure there will be minimal carnage if any. It begins just east of the I-40/I-70 split and ends in Georgetown. That way, if you guys wanted to opt out of Kingston, Guenella pass could put you headed back towards the springs.

Hope you can make it.

last call...

jx, sorry you can't make it...

I may not have another chance to check to board again before sunday.... so, again if your in, Pteradactyl lot, 7:30a, channel 4 on the radio.

Lets get some last runs in before the white stuff starts pilling up! See y'all Sunday!

...and camping is NOT required for the run, so don't let that scare ya.

All of the sudden it looks like i'll have Sunday off. Is this parking lot North or South of I-70? I'll try to be there for one more run.
