CO: Beer in Boulder July 13th, 2006

I am moving again, so there is limited time in the hood. Tried this once and got buggered. As such, I propose the following:

Who: Y'all
What: Social Time
Where: A Pub somewhere in Boulder
When: Thursday night, July 13th
Why: Because we ought to!

I am not concerned about rigs, mostly because I will not have mine. Mostly just looking to put some names to faces. Heck, I will likely not even talk trucks unless asked.

Hit a note here, we can work on a place.

Come On!

Isaac, I will ring you tomorrow. I slept more last night than in the previous 4 combined.

I am not much of a drinker either, but I like people, I like outside and I won't turn beer down, so it sounds like a plan to me.

Choices being Pearl St., which is my vote, The Hill, which will have uber kids, or some place near the mall, which is easier to get to, potentially more chilled out but just not as cool.

i may be able to find my way over. is the west end still around? do they still have rooftop dining despite the new biga$$ building next door? that was always a nice place to relax and have a drink without the pretentious attitude of, say, the med.

where are you going? this area, or far away?

I am headed back to Fort Collins. Not far, but not as easy.

Not familiar with the place you mentioned.

west end serves decent food, doesn't rip you off on price, and has a good bar. the bar area is always packed, and it's nice (er, was nice) to go sit up on the roof in their seating area there -- you get to look (er, crap... got to look) at the flatirons. they have a minibar upstairs but will get you whatever you need from elsewhere. despite the new building next door where the gas station used to be, it would still be nice. it's at 9th and pearl or so. i may be a block north or south but it's near 9th... right in there.

isaac, thanks for checking on it. it would have my vote if it's still around and they say the rooftop is still open. i'm willing to go elsewhere of course, but that's nice due to the outdoor seating.

We'll do it at the West End Tavern then. Never been there, but it looks nice. It's still open and has the roof open. Address is

926 Pearl St
Boulder, CO 80302

Google map it, but baisically, you go north on broadway to pearl, and take a left. head down to ninth street. it's in between 8th and 9th.

Reservation is under Adrian, so show up around 7 and they should show you where to go. I set it up for 15 people, so lets get a head count ASAP so i can give them a more accurate number.

This will be fun, so folks had better come out.

Okay, come on folks, lets get a few more people up here. This is a great time to get to meet folks, talk to people, and eat some good food. It's not a late thing, plenty of time to get back home and in bed for work the next day.

So far its me, adrian, ric, and leif. I'm probably bringing my lady friend, are any of the others of you bringing company? They are more than welcome, i just need to know for the reservation. I'm hoping some more ladies show, otherwise mine is going to be a bit pissed (truck talk is more than a little boring at this point for her.)

I am bringing the family up to your neck of the woods one week after this date for a mini vacation. The wife and I agree that we would love to hang out with you all for an evening. We can meet somewhere for dinner etc. either 7/21, 7/22, or 7/23. Let me know if you are available...

Jim, would love to meet up with you, but can only do friday the 21st, since wheeling and camping on saturday and sunday. If friday evening sounds good, would be awesome.

Okay, so far its still just me, ric, leif, and adrian. I'll wait until this afternoon, and then i'm going to have to call and change to 4. Lets get a few more people.

this is a great idea. i've been away, so i didn't get to check yotatech for 2 weeks, and i'm in a meeting tomorrow night, so i can't be there. but i wanted to voice my support for these things, so we can do more in the future.

edit: one more thing, next time we should meet at southern sun by table mesa, great beer, good food, and no parking garages. there's only one parking garage downtown that i fit my truck in (and it's far away from the west end)

Friday works for us. We will be going to Water World, weather permitting so you guys should pick some place. I will let you know where we decide to stay as well so you can take that into consideration.
