I definitley want to go before I head out on the 25th of this month. But I'm working this saterday ... chicago4x4 is still going, I think they have a pretty good size group going .. both modified and stockers .....

speaking of tires ... I got to sell the ones I have sitting here, I guess I'll put them up on Ebay this weekend

rob you will NEVER be good to go! hahaha

anyways, anyone know where I can get a temporary skid until I get my one from Xtreme?? I don't want to go wheeling with everything exposed!!!!

plus my bumper is not in yet! Mike said it won't be here until the end of June:cry:

I did order my Hawse Fairlead from AllPro

Shavad, if you are thinking about running synthetic line for your winch(assuming you are gonna put one in that TJM) I would pick one up from ALL PRO! They are on sale now for like 29, instead of 49! I picked one up, and I will be getting a MasterPull sythetic line soon!

now I need a winch!

I leave Arizona the 9th and plan on getting there the 12th or so. But I won't be able to go that weekend because I'll have a lot of things to take care of, maybe the following weekend after that I might be able to, maybe the weekend of the 21st?

I might have to drive down to Indy to get my tires, unless I can find a place around west lafayette that sells bfg a/t's for 140 a piece.

check out tire rack ... their warehouse is in South bend indiana, so maybe you could just pick them up and save on the shipping too.
Actually the 21st works for me too, but I'm good either way.

Mike .... I'm going to kick your ass ... I'm so poor right now, and since I read like an hour ago that your getting a winch, now I want one too. This sucks

fairlead is what the winch cable or rope is lead through from the winch. See pic below then look at the winch on my truch...

The new cables I have are called: guy wires or limb raisers

I meant the hawse fairlead was $29!! not the synthetic line! haha sorry about that

JP, are you running synthetic line? I thought you had a cable!

Shavad, I only got the hawse fairlead from Allpro, because the one that comes with the M8000 is made for a metal cable. If I run synth line with it, it will fray my line. The Allpro one is made of Aluminum, and won't fray the line!

BTW. do you have the address of that guy who works on your rig? I am gonna go get my truck worked on, but he never told me the EXACT address. Just how to get there(which were kinda shady directions.) I would rather just plug his address into Mapquest and go from there!

Mike-
He's on Holeman ave in steggar, Il. There is a place that does coatings (ceramic, etc), and they are 3300 Holeman ave. This guy is right down the street from them. I don't know his exact address either. I just use 3300 Holeman ave in tha navigation.
Don't worry holeman ave is not a very long street, its a small industrial park. He usually has his 1st generation 4Runner parked up front, you can't miss it, its a dark brown color, with one of those cloth tops.

When are you going up there to see him. Hes going to fix my axle next week, and he got me a deal to get an alignment for only $50 after the new lift goes in.

JP-thanks for the pics

I wont for a while. Costs too much and my cable is like new. When it starts to fray or get used more than once in a blue moon, then Ill make the switch. The chances of it snapping are pretty minimal considering its a 12000lb rated cable and my winch is 8000lbs...but time will cause it to wear.

sorry guys, i was so hectic the last few days i forgot to give the final run info. the chi4x4 group was small, we only had 11 rigs, and i was the only yota. i went down with a broken leaf spring, so i only wheeled it half the day.

edit: it may sound wrong, but i broke the spring last week, drove it there, wheeled it, and drove back, with the patch job still holding.
