Date: 13 Nov 04

Time: 9:00 AM Meet'nGreet, Depart 9:15 AM SHARP. If you're late, try to catch up at the end of the pavement (or slightly past it) on the west side of Lake Pleasant. We'll be stopping to air down prior to heading up the hill.

Meeting Place: I-17 and the Carefree Hwy, West side of the Freeway.

CB Channel 8

Plan on a full day trip w/ lunch at Crown King some where between 12 and 1:00 PM if it goes OK. Bring a snack or two to get ya by if we run longer.

Copper State Cruisers did this run on 9-18;

http://www.copperstatecruisers.org/Trail_runs.htm

We had a couple of stock heeps with us, they had to take some of the bypasses, but made it without damage. This was the first run for my "new to me" LX450, mostly stock other than OME 2.5", ARB bull bar and 295/75/16 Nittos, managed to put a scratch (rock rash) on the trans cross member, great way to break in a trail virgin. Fun trail with great veiws and loads of mines and stuff to explore.

Our run started at 8:30 from painted rocks and we were enjoying an excellent Philly Cheese Steak at the Mill by noon. The Mill is the place for great grub in Crown King, and dont miss the fudge at the genaral store (the owner Ben has two cruisers). Would you guys mind a Lexi and '86 Runner taging along?

Time permitting we will be headed up to Prescott from Crown King.
Its a cake walk as far as difficulty goes but has some nice scenery.
Any one is welcome to join us if we go.

Yes, this trail is easy. It's only sort of hard if you take the alternalte by passes.

well i was hoping to get rocksliders sometime soon, but i doubt i will have them by the trip, unless 4crawler is having a boring month. but otherwise my rig has 1.5" downey springs and cranked torsion bars running 31" tires. so i am not all that concerned with making it through its just the body damage i am a little afraid of, are their many boulders and such cuz the only armor i am carrying is a toyota brush guard.

Just pick your lines with care, or take the bypasses if your not comfortable and you will make it just fine. I hit the spare tire sidewall a couple of times, so now the spare rides strapped down in the back for trail runs.

My last ride (sold in Aug) was a '90 Runner with Downey heavys and 31" BFG AT's would have taken it on this run without hesitation.

About time to push this thread back to the top. I'm also interested in making this trip. Currently working on the wife ( she's interested but no firm yes yet). In any event, I'm planning on it and will be severely bummed if I don't make it. Looking forward to meeting fellow AZ members. BTW, is this open to other vehicles or sticking to Toyota?

I'm gonna keep this run open only to YotaTech members if possible. It takes WAY to long to get thru with a large group...
