Hey, that pic rocks!! Looks like a magazine cover or sumthin'

I will wait to get Uwe's pics and then put together a little gallery.

Mark, thanks for leading another great run! (and thanks for spotting me through/over that boulder and rock ledge thingy.) I had a lot of fun. Those clouds rolling over the mountain tops were kick azzz!

Hey Greg (MNBOY) whenever you get around to checking in - thanks for coming out to do a run with us! We enjoyed your company and I really like yer 'yota. Very nice rig! It was fun watching you get through/over/up everything.

Jack and Uwe - thanks for coming all the way out from CA to wheel with us! Hopefully that trail was "spicy" enough!

Steve, thanks again for bringing the skid and supports.

WOOOHOOO!!

Thanks everyone for a great run. It was nice to meet some of the YotaTech members and see their rigs in action.

Here are a couple of pics on things that Mark mentioned:

JackSilb's air:

Why to get sliders instead of nerf bars...:

Steve got a little air here too

Steve,

I got new back coils and shocks for the 4Runner this week.
Just like your setup.

I don't think it is hard as you noticed. Maybe I am used to have harder coils on the back already. I had the Downey 3.5". But when loaded they were more like 1.5". I am surprised how quick the Downey went bad.

Can't wait to do some trails with the 4Runner loaded to see it the coils solved my sagging problem. If not, I will have to go with the 600 lbs version. What Old Man Emu call them? Super Heavy Duty?

Thanks,
-JACK

I would get a 1" Cornbred Spacer before going up to the 892 coils. You'll find the 891's flex really well. Try it like you have it, I bet it will be fine with just the 891's.

WOOOHOOO!!

Thanks for the fun run. Couple of minutes on the highway to get the smell of burning clutch out of the truck and it's as good as new. I'm still not home yet (hopefully by the beginning of Dec.) and I can organize my pics and post them for folks to see. Some fun stuff from Moab the week after also, including dragging my buddy's Wrangler up Metal Masher. I think it will be a while before he goes wheelin with me again. Later,

Steve,

Please give me some education here. What is the 1" cornbred spacer. How it is used?

Thanks,

It's a spacer that goes on top of the spring.

That is an OME 891 spring with a 1" spacer.

You can get them from:

http://www.cornfedsuspension.com/

But I would wait, I think you'll be fine the way it is.

A 1" spacer gives you 1" more lift.

Thanks for the pic and explanation.
Now is a bit late. The coils are in. I wish I had seen these in your truck before. I did not notice them.

I rode the 4Runner with 2 adults, 2 teens, one baby, and two (90 lbs) this weekend. Just street driving.

The coils did OK but I saw they were coming down maybe one inch or more.

I am afraid that once I have the camping gear and my tools in the truck going on trails it will make my lift only 1" and the front ride higher.

After a while the coils will get even softer.
I may have to go to the harder (892 ?) version or use the spacers you shown.

I have a trip coming in Thanksgivings. Stay tuned.

Thanks,
-JACK
