Ok, I'll seriously try and make it, it'll depend on how wife is feeling. And I'll try and burn you a copy of the desoto trail from last year. Kirk.

BajaTaco pic's of last year's run-

K-Ton's Pic's

4x4wire report

There will probably be other rigs along without lockers- If your feelin' froggy, come on up,

but-

some of the hill climbs are pretty loose and steep, some of the rocks are big enough to hang ya up with out a locker, if a stock TJ can get thru with a few "gentle" tugs from a strap, so can you.

IF it rains like it did last year, you could have a hell of a time getting thru-

and,

you've been warned in advance- body damage is possible without sliderz- if you don't care, that's fine!

I placed the restrictions on vehicles to avoid any undo delays or unwanted damage. We'll get ya thru- but I won't say it will be easy.

Thanks for the pics.

I'd go stock but my truck looks like it's going to be the only one stock, so nah, nevermind.

It's gonna seem like I'm not even there.

Long Range Forecast-

Saturday, Nov 01 Mostly Sunny 73°/43° 0% Precipitation

With the way the weather has been, 20° above normal, I have no doubt this will be a great trip weather wise! 73° is still above average this time of year-

Last years trip was wet, cold, and muddy by the time we finished up- this looks to be much better!

BajaTaco sent me here.
I would like to make this trip with you.
I friend and I will be driving from San Diego (just one 4Runner).
My 4Runner is not as capable as the ones I see on the Avatars, but we will be OK.
~2.5+" lift, back lockers, and sliders.

Thanks,
-JACK
I'll be riding with Jack. We follow BajaTaco's advice and take Jack's truck since mine only has a modest lift and no lockers or sliders.

Looking forward to getting out there!

NEWS FLASH

Channel 3 KTVK had a story last night on FS 89's "caretaker" via the Adopt-A-Trail program. I hate it when trails get TV promotions; it usually leads to no good for wheelers.

The guy said "No one would dare go past the portion of the trail maintained by Mr. Dugan"

Maybe we'll see Friar Tuck up there (AKA Mr. Dugan) next weekend. The dude has cut brush and filled in holes in the one section of the trail for two (2) years He said before he started the road was "impassable"

WRONG!

Yup, I saw that one.

What was surprising was that he was driving a TOYOTA!

LOL!

Hello,

So far so good.
My company was closed the last two days due to the fires in San Diego. There will be lots of work on the next three days.
Uwe and I are still planning to come.

A couple show stoppers would be:
- Fire close to Uwe's house. No I am not kidding.
- My ARB compressor O ring. Mine is leaking at this point. I need to get the O ring and install it before the trip. Mail to San Diego is not working these days.

We will see.

Forecast-

SATURDAY...PARTLY CLOUDY WITH A 30 PERCENT CHANCE OF RAIN SHOWERS WINDY. SOUTHWEST WINDS 15 TO 25 MPH. GUSTS UP TO 25 MPH INCREASING TO 35 MPH IN THE AFTERNOON. HIGHS 52 TO 62.

Bring clothing suitable for changing weather conditions. If the area gets real wet, we will opt out at the Peck Mine road exit, or head back out thru the creek bed again.

MURPHY'S LAW is in effect for sure, he's a close personal friend of mine, no doubt.

If we get rain, it's supposed to be early Sat morning. Maybe it'll be enough to knock down the dust on the roads and smoke in the air-

Thanks to all who attended- we had 10 rigs total.

Special thanks to those from out of state- Maine and California

No major carnage- bent tierod, munched nerf bar, and a flat on the way out-

See Ya

pics?

edit: I'm coming back to Az in December, was wondering if you guys would want to do one of these runs then. I won't have my truck with me, but if possible I would gladly ride with one of you guys and check out the scenery.

No pic's from me yet- I din't even finish one roll of film. There were several digital cams, so perhaps we'll get a few. Jacksilb got the most air, so hopefully we'll se a pic of that I know several guys were heading out for more wheelin' so it may take a few days to get everything up.

I will be heading somewhere in Dec, just don't know when or where yet. I'm ready for some harder stuff, the last few runs I've been on were too easy, so maybe the Terminators or Predator will be next.

If it ever snows again, I'll up for that too-
