Anza-Borrego, Mar 3-5, for those too broke for TDS!

New thread for those of us possibly planning to go out to A-B, but who aren't taking part in TDS's planned runs.

This is cool, but I would still like to at least a start a Truckhaven and see some of the TDS yotatechers.

I will be camping at Truckhaven on friday night with a buddy who is doing the safari.

I'll be in mammoth that weekend. I would have liked to do it though.

Deathrunner, I'm only going to drive up Saturday morning, so I can try to meet you guys anywhere you want. But I doubt you can really drive around Truckhaven on saturday WITHOUT being apart of one of their runs.

I am only going for Fri night and Sat. I will go home that night. I will lead a run on Sat if there is enough interest. I am thinking either heading to Ocotillo Wells through the desert and doing the "slot". Or maybe heading due south to Superstitions. I am open to other ideas.

THis is more like it! I am heading out (where ever ) friday at about 3pm and do not want to come home until Sunday afternoon.

All I am looking for is some good wheeling and camping so other than that I am open to anything and anywhere.
Seth/ Marc
I would be cool with camping at Anza fri night with yah-all. and then go where ever with the rest of this group.

I will follow this thread to see whats up.

Cool.

Camping at truckhaven on friday works well for me. I'd be dissapointed not to hit soem sort of trail in truckhaven, but that feeling will pass quickly.

I will be leaving saturday afternoon as well. (Marc and I seem to be on teh same schedule).

Where is the "slot" at?

Eric and i are probably going to ride out to Anza around the same time and camping there sounds like a better deal than the zoo over at TDS. I'd like to stop by and pay my registration fee, get a T-shirt, find the other Yota guys and then go back to the campsite. We're going to go the back-route to Anza and not take the I-8.

I would be down to go to the slot also. I actually haven't ever been there before. One of the last places in Ocotillo I haven't been.

We should all really go to the backside of blow sand hill too. I've always wanted to try and make it up those steep little hills, but never had anyone there I'd trust to spot me, or pull me out.

That looks very cool. Can you drive through that or is it a site seeing thing?

I found a cool rocky section down in the cove last time I was at Ocotillo, that might be fun to try. I got half way up and I was using my skid plate quite a bit.

I hear it is supposed to rain this weekend, hope it doesn't.

So if I have this right, the campsite will be in Truckhaven? Is there any more specific details. I fear not being able to find anyone from YT.

Deathrunner Update:

My friend jacked up his back, so I no longer have to correspond plans with his. I'll camp where the broke-back yotatechers camp.

Do we definitively know where that is yet? I'd love to just meet up at the camp site Saturday morning, meet everyone then head out to wherever we go (slot, blow sand, etc).

I'm going to ride with you guys since most of you migrated (for lack of a better term) from the original post. Seth, you said that you and Marc were planning to camp at TDS friday night in the other post, so I take it that we're no longer camping at truckhaven Friday?

Sounds like we should just agree on where to meet the first night and then stay together as we move wherever our wheels take us the following days...
