like mike said, the truckhaven trail may be a good one to take from the calcit mine trail to font's point. here are a bunch of links to photos of it...

if we are going to cover this much ground on sat, we will probably need to get started first thing in the morning. is everyone planning on arriving on friday? if so, we can head out around sunrise and have one hell of a day out there.

Congratulations!
A good buddy of mine just started the police academy this past Monday. I'm waiting for his progress report phone call sometime this weekend
Anyhow, these jobs can be hard to get sometimes. Excellent job! Congratulations again!

yes pics and vids are a must!!!
Man this is making me drive my truck all the way back to az for some fun. Maybe I will in the future, who knows. Have fun though
lol I just saw over at 4x4wire that Fear got rear ended by a benz. No dmg at all to his runner but the benz got totaled

It's hard to get a dent at 1/4 Mile per hour.

What's especially fun in Anza Borrego is ripping through washes at 40-50 mph. (Just make sure you can see far enough ahead. I had a buddy of mine get into a head-on collision in Font's Point wash a few years back which totalled his 88 Toy pickup.)
I used to have this really stiff Downey dual shock loop kit on my '89 Toy Pickup and I would get air, and nothing could bottom that thing out. It would get smooth as ice at 40 mph no matter what I was encountering. My 4Runner isnt' really set up for that kind of abuse.

We hope to make the trip. There are some circumstances that might put the nix on it, but for now... we are in!
C'mon Peter, you are so close it would be a shame to have you sit this one out.

don't worry, the trip is still on. if you were looking at the posts from rob, marc, and i, we were just discussing making a day trip out there before the weekend trip we planned. see ya in a couple of weeks.
