I won't be able to stay for the entire weekend so my plan is to be there Saturday. What time is everyone going to hit the trails? Are there going to be a bunch of different groups? What would be the best time to get there?

UPDATE:

2 days!!

I am having some last minute cancelations (as expected. I expect more).

If you are coming on friday

I will be there at about 10am and will be helping people get situated and show them where the camping is going to be. I do expect to do some wheeling on friday too. Friday night will be camping.

If you are coming saturday

Try to be there by 9am. We will be in the parking lot organizing the trail groups.

I know many of you and know this doesnt need to be said but.... Please respect the trails. Dont make your own trails. Tread lightly. Clean up after yourself. Also be respectful of Marseilles. They are just now getting used to the Cliffs being there. Lets not piss them off.

Umm yeah thats all.

The bad news is I will not be camping Fiday or Saturday, the good news is that I wont be camping because the wife is coming with and we could only get a baysitter for the day. If she enjoys it maybe next time will be with the kids to and then we would camp. I might bring a few beers to hang out and drink after wheeling on Saturday and then have her drive home, but not sure on that yet.

Did they ever open up the Seneca exit, or do we still need to drive through Marseilles if we are coming from the east?

Dry and no rain my butt!!

Slick and sloppy. I really felt sorry for those nice shiny stock vehicles. Even those with nice new FJ's. I heard a lot of grinding of under vehicle parts.

My junk is so light with no bed I had a heck of time and couldn't even do a complete lap of #1. (31 BFG AT's and open diffs) Locked and some weight in the back and it may have done better no doubt. No matter, I'm gonna sell this thing anyway. Sorry gents, heading back to the Jeep world, buying a new Wrangler on Monday.

I'll post up all the details on mine as soon as I get it devoid of Cliffs muck.

Huh, seems like you are the only one who didn't make it through. My "nice, shiny, stock" '01 4Runner made it with no damage.

NO BED = not enough weight!!

Thing is wheeling to me is NOT doing #1. Wheeling is more like #7, #21 and Carnage!

No offense to anyone, I'm sure my truck would be more than capable with about $4K total in mods BUT it also has to be my DD. In that case it isn't cost effective to sink $4K into a $1.5K vehicle IMHO.

SAS, gearing, lockers, sliders, bigger meats, Weber carb, header and 2.5" exhaust all would make it more than capable I'm sure. Even then, I'm not a fan of manual trans in Midwest style wheeling. Rocks are another story but that would mean splitting the TC but how often do you head out West in a year??

AND... for a DD I really miss AC!!!

Well, I had a blast thanks to everyone for coming out. I also thought there would be more FJC's. I think the weather changed their mind a little. It was very sloppy. I was hoping for dry conditions so everyone could venture into the interior of the park. Maybe next year.

A HUGE thanks to Tom. Theres no better trail guide than the man who created the Cliffs. Tom stepped WAY up on the raffle (winch, straps, tree savers, shirts, stickers, highlift, tools, doritos) and I hope to see all the TNT 4x4 stuff put to good use.

Thanks to Carl from Outback Offroad. I know Alot of guys really enjoyed your rigs, and thanks for the 3 500$ gift certificates!!! Thanks Adam (4xinnovations) for the tube work. Thanks woody for all the mugs and stickers. Thanks oddmar for the bumper. Thanks Cliffs for some shirts, passes, and stickers. I hope I didnt forget anyone but im tired after being at the cliffs after 6:00 today after I had to fix a blown trunion bearing (I went off some sweet jumps)

Thanks to CRAWL magazine for coming out and covering the event, and all the free mags.

Thanks a ton to Scott, Dragon, Digger, and all the other experienced wheelers for showing the guys around the trails.

Next year will be bigger and better. The FJC trail team should come.

Now someone post up some pics.
