sell it or build it?

hi all i am torn right now i have had my 86 pickup 2X4 for about 9 years now and for the most part have had only minor problems up until about 2 years ago i decided to breath a bit of new life into the old girl and rebuilt the bottom end of my 22re. it was using oil real bad and i was not in the position for a new truck yet. so i final got in the position for a new truck and had a 2008 ford f150 dropped in my lap so i jumped on it. so now back to the yota. the truck has some minor problems such as spedo does not work= needs new gear, cold start injector no worky requires either a shot of gas to the TB or starting fluid to start when it is below 32 degrees. has about 10 degrees of play in steering and lots of play in gear shifter= needs new bottom bushing but it keeps getting knocked off, also has some minor body damage, and the power steering pump leaks

so i cant decided if i want to keep the truck and turn it into a off road toy "4x4 solid axle 30" tires, part it out, or sell it whole. she has 310,000 on her which is my best guess the spedo has be working off and on for the past year so not really sure how many miles are on her. i just put new tires on and when i rebuilt the engine i also rebuilt the steering linkage.

so if you were in my shoes what would you do?

well the way i look at it, a truck with that many miles and 2wd wont sell for much so just keep it and turn it into a nice 4x4. you will also have a truck that you built up so it will mean more aswell! just my 2 cents

Build it. Do it right. Take your time. It already is cosmetically (is that even a word?) damaged so you won't feel bad about minor trail damage.

I have the same response as the previous folks.

If you'll enjoy doing such a build, it is more wise to use your effort/dollars/time. My $0.02.

thats what i was kinda thinking i was figuring that best case i could get a grand for it with the right buyer but most likely a around 8. nice thing is the body is really solid and does not have any major rust it is an extra cab SR5

what would look better on it 35's? also if you were to build it would you stick with the 22re or jump up to the v6?
