second gen 4runner rear off road bumper

Hey guys,

l have been looking for a rear off road bumper for my shop rig for a while. I found a company that is making some quality bumpers and I am thinking about importing these bumpers to include in our shop line up of Toyota parts. I am looking for some input from everybody to see what you guys think? This is a plate style bumper with D ring shackle mounts, and a 2" receiver point, and optional tire carrier.

Price with rear tire carrier would be in the $1150 range plus shipping and the bumper without tire carrier would be in the $799 range plus shipping. These would be unpainted.

I would be interested if you had it in a DIY weld together kit format.

The thing with bumpers is the freight.

Have you worked out the shipping rates with your shippers of choice??

I do like that look rather then round tube.

So I am waiting on a shipping cost which should be today. As for a DIY kit, this is not available at this time. The exterior shell is made of 10 gauge sheet steel that is formed.

I will update as soon as I have the cost for shipping.

Thanks

I too like the look of the bumper, and am in the market for one. (front bumper too) but the price is steep, not just on this one, on all of them. I guess, more than I'm willing to shell out for a bumper. Especially the $350 tire carrier option. But for your feedback, I do in fact like this bumper and if it was more in the range of what I'm willing to spend I would purchase it.

I agree with you Gevo. I just recently bought a CBI offroad plate front bumper kit for my 2nd Gen because it was 500 bucks shipped, which is around the price of a finished tube bumper, which work well but don't really give a finished look. Most complete front plate bumpers start at 800 bucks plus you add a decent winch and you are looking at 2 grand, put a rear bumper on there and you have 3-4 grand in bumpers on a truck that is only worth 3-4 grand to begin with...I would be willing to spend another 400 on a kit maybe 600 on a swing out kit for a rear bumper. I couldn't believe 4x4 labs wants 1200 bucks for a rear kit bumper with swingout and jerry can holder and you have to do all the welding and painting still! For 1200 bucks it better come with a welder in the kit too!

So shipping looks like it will put these out of reach.

I guess we are gonna have to figure out another option.
