The STEALERSHIP!!!! Attn South bay'rs
So we have recently diagnosed a bad throttle position sensor on my 92 22re.
So did some digging and found a parts price list on my local dealers website. They show a price of $103. Not bad compared to oriellys $90 for an aftermarket.
I called the dealership tosee if they had it in stock. After 10 minutes the tech stated he couldnt find it, wich means they dont sell the sensor. He said I would have to buy a whole new throttle body, with a price tag of over $900!!!! Rediculous! Made me wonder if i wanted an oem knock sensor if i would have to buy the whole engine!
Imediately I called another nearby dealership, and found the part quickly, within 20 seconds, for a price of $136
Now Im sure they use the same system right?
Naturally I went to orielly and bought thiersfor$90 with a lifetime warranty.
The first dealership, locatedin neighboring Sunnyvale is were we bought the girlfriends used 2001 vw golf. after going through thier howevermanypoint inspection we were assured it was good to go. All it needed was 2 new tires, which they gave us a nice check for since they didnt have the size in stock. Upon taking this car to our local tire shop we have used for YEARSm we find it has tir rod ends and ball joints so bad they were almost falling off. 2inches of play in all directions! Not to mention the later found pcv hose with a hole the size of a quarter!
After much headache and argument they did correct the problem alont with the bad coil packs.
I have ran into many people and even a D.A. they has hadmajor saftey issues with this place.
BEWARE!
