Looking for help with cooling system
Hello, I have a 1993 4runner V6 with the dreaded 3.0 motor. My question is, the overflow container from the radiator is making some serious bubbling noises like it wants to rupture. I checked all the fluids, and only use Toyota red antifreeze. What causes this and am I heading for another blown head gasket issue? Any help would be greatly appreciated. thank you

shouldn't be any bubbling from your overflow box. 1st replace your thermostat and your radiator cap, then, replace your thermostatic fan clutch. There is no way to test the fan clutch, except for you should hear some roaring when the engine gets hot. If you have over 100k on it I'd replace it even if you don't suspect it is bad. The most I've ever seen on a 3.0 is 300k miles, then it blew a head gasket. Check your oil to see if you have any coolant, this means drain the oil and lay there under the truck and watch it come out. I know, real interesting, stick your finger in it if you see any red stuff (coolant). If you see red stuff then your are pretty much s....... with a capital S and will need to replace your head gaskets.
