November 2006: Hogans Off Road, Disney, OK

So now back to the Disney Trip:

What sounds good for a date? First weekend of November seems a bit soon. Hans, can you move some stuff one of the two later weekends?

OK: New suggestion after talking to Hans,

Trip is tentative on Saturday, November 11th, meeting at Disney at 11AM.
Wheel all day, camp at night, wheel some on Sunday, and Cory is back in Monett by 4PM (leave round 2PMish)

Who's all coming?
For those of you that have wheeled with us before... don't worry, Disney is different than wheeling in a national forest. You don't drive around looking for stuff to do. The problem is deciding which of the things within 1000' of your current location you'd like to do next. We'll definitely pack more action into 24 hours than we've had in the last 2 weekend trips combined

Doesn't look like Gary's mall crawler can come play.

I'm using the theory that my truck drove up on the trailer last weekend... so if I just don't touch the thing it'll be able to drive off the trailer at Disney.

I know what I'm asking for for Christmas... Tube Bender Cause we got at least 4 vehicles that are in need of some major tube work.

Keith... how're you coming pounding through all that math I sent you?

Cory, my lack of winch isn't dampening your thoughts about HoChi, right? I'm down for it... unless we're driving a carbureted Jeep without brakes I don't see the need for a winch anyways.

Haha. To be honest i dont get it.

i tried just putting it all into my calculator, inverse sin and all, but it kept giving me some domain error. i'll bring my calc along next trip or something.

What math are you two talking about?

Hans, all you have to do is go out there, and weld the thing back on... we are talking 1 hour tops and we have a winch. No its not making me think twice about ho chi, but i doubt i'll go playin in the marshes without one.

We're discussing my "custom" panhard and what we're gonna do about it. He sent me a bunch of math about the difference of the bar horizontal and at 10* angle and how that effected the length etc. any ideas are welcome... btw.

I see no point in welding something back on that needs improvement.

There's nothing at Disney for mud that will stick you good. The water puddle gets too deep for the engine you you bottom out in ruts from 44" boggers. None of that suction stuff to fight.

Whether you use a winch or a rope... someone is going to have to walk through the water to attach it.

Wheeling stuff is ready to go... just can't forget the camping stuff.

Cory, I'll give you a call at some point in the morning and update you on my whereabouts as I'm beginning the day with a 7am call with GM China. Shouldn't affect my 9am departure for Disney.... but I'll keep you in the loop.

Oh... and I may be taking a Saturday night call from the top of a hill at Disney. That'd be a classic.
