I'm thinking about it again... except this time im thinking about the 89-92 turbo manual supra or a 92+ SC300 w/ a 2JZ beggin for a turbo....
Obviously the project trucks need to leave first, but I'm thinking a supra or a sc300 would make a good congrats present to myself for getting the trucks done, and tide me over til the buick is done... gotta be a manual and gotta be quick/fun to drive with reliability.

I say go with either the mkiii or the sc300 and drop in a 1jzgte or 2jzgte. I'm a previous sc owner myself and dropped in a 1jz, a fairly inexpensive swap. The power gain was awesome as well as the music from the twin turbos. I miss it!

that car is pretty much what i want..... how about just turbo (low boost) the stock 2jz?
Where did you get your 1jz, and if you dont mind me asking, what did the swap run?
also what kind of rims are those, and what headlights are those?

Yes, that's another route turboing the 2jzge, a kid here in Fay just finished up a na-t. I'd suggest checking out www.clublexus.com for more info on this.
I got my 1jz off of ebay from jhotimports www.jhotimports.com, after I heard several people say they were happy with what they got from them. So I gave them a shot and was very pleased. The motor came with everything to do the swap. The motor set cost me $1300 shipped! I did some basic maintanance, changed belts, valve cover gaskets. I did everything myself, extended the wiring harness, pulled the motor.
The wheels are MKIV supra wheels 17x9.5 rear 17x8 front. The headlights are actually stock, I pulled them apart painted the inside, the ring you see around the projector is the top of a fruit can i modified to fit!

1300 isnt bad at all. I've found turbo kits to do a na->t on a sc300 2j for around 1400 shipped, and I figured although slightly more than a 1j, your retaining all the stock wiring and everything else, (a lazy person's easy way out) I'm getting tired of working on vehicles.... between my 2 project vehicles, plus my brothers, and my 72 buick i've about had enough.
was yours a 5spd or auto?

Mine was an auto, most 5spd you find will be $1000-2000 more in price. The wiring actually wasn't that bad. It was just a matter of extending 4 plugs about 18 inches.
