Trouble in Alberta.......

Anyone here see the havoc unleashed on the May long weekend in SW Alberta?

Saw some news footage of the aftermath and it made me sick....

There were people off trail ripping and tearing, and there was literally TONS of garbage left behind.... They had to bring transport trucks and industrial bins to haul it all away. There was even a vehicle torched and left there.

A local offroading group came to the rescue and volunteered their members to try to clean up after the vandals. It looked like there was more damage than they alone could handle.

Seems the area in question (I forget where they said it was) was hit particularily hard by people as some other areas have been restricted or closed in the last 2 years.

It is really sad to see people so careless ruining it for the rest of the people out there. It sounded like it was not just a few careless people, but quite a number of them acting like jerks, as there were hundreds of enforcement tickets and violations issued over the weekend towards area users.

Just wondering if anyone here saw anything firsthand or had anything to add about what happened. I got all my info from watching the news and from a couple of people I work with that were out west camping.
