So I told them to take off the locker and the alloy wheels, and then add in the above package.
This way I get the instrument cluster (gotta have it, coolness factor here) best sound system, minus the sub woofer.
Even though I may be yanking out the sound system for a custom one, it will be nice to have it on hand if I ever sell the rig.

Who knows, the stock upgraded system may sound nice, it has 8 speakers, but I am use to a very high end system I put in my 4Runner including a 15" JL W6 sub woofer.
The stock system sounded pretty good, adding a sub and replacing the front components would make it better. The 6 disc head unit was pretty cool, I'd never seen one that operates in that fashion before (turns out the Ford Explorer has a simialr system).

Looks like June still Paul.
Hopefully the 4Runner will hold up until then.

Twinkie, that is good to know the stock one sounds pretty good.
As much as I like deep tight bass and loud music, I may have to change my ways and cut back.
I am nearing 50, and perhaps I should try to retain some of my hearing

Corey, your chances of getting one sooner just improved. That's the most popular model, color and package being ordered in our region. Just keep in mind that the UR package you ordered requires the CQ package as well = $.

The CQ, is that the conv. one?

If so, I may have to go back to my original order.
I am trying to get this thing cheap, not priced out near what a 4th gen is going for.

Looks like it is back to stock then.

I really hate how Toyota makes you get a certain package to get another one.
Just one more way to milk your wallet to death.

Yep, the only thing I find worthwhile in the CQ package are the power mirrors.

I will either call my sales rep back with the news, or wait until he calls me to see if they spot the glitch with this new package without having the conv. one.

they won't realize it or care until the truck shows up and then be like "oh well, too bad. If you don't want it someone else will". Or you'll just cough up the extra dough.

I'd get it straightened out now

Just called the dealer to see if any more came in, and a salesman told me a maroon one was there, the one that was bought last week.
It belongs to a woman employee, so I am going to go down and check it out.

I also checked into this latest package I ordered above, and he said I do not need to order that CQ package since mine is a custom order.

Sorry to disappoint you, but your sales rep is wrong. Ask the Sales Manager, Leroy, to sign the modified contract with no changes allowed and you'll see a humbled sales rep.

Well, just an update here.
My order went in the beginning of April.
They say it takes two months from then.

I called today to find out what is going on, and the dealer has no answer.
They promise me they will tomorrow when I call back.

The info I have received is once the rig is built and put on the ship, it takes about 3 or so weeks before I am sitting in it and driving it home.

As far as I know, it has not even been built yet, so they are missing the deadline they told me of June 15th a few weeks back.

If I get some bad news tomorrow, I may take back my deposit and shop elsewhere.
There is a good dealer just two to three blocks from my work.
I may even take a rig that comes in if it fits my criteria.

My order went in mid March, and still not here. I was told by mid may I would have a vin, but so far dealer only shows that its still being assembled. Perhaps because mine is manual trans with few options they take longer to produce.

Just got off the tele with my dealer.
JULY!!!!!!!
He says the end of June, but we all know that turns into July.
The rig has not even been built yet.

He does have an allocation # for it which means didly squat.
There are 2 black ones allocated to him with the same config as mine, he may be able to change the color to mine and get it sooner, but I doubt it.

Oh well, more time to save up even more $$$ for that down payment.

I was hoping to wheel this new toy this summer, but now it looks like I will have to wait until late September/early October Fall Colors run.
I want to give it a month before it sees any dirt so I can break in the engine right, get it all waxed up, and modded out before it hits the hills.

I will have all my mods sittin' in my living room ready to install before the thing is even shipped

They have 'em in southeast Iowa. I wondered if they were sold already as they were tucked way in the back of the lot, and nobody came and hasseled me when I was looking at them for 10 minutes.

That stinks. Maybe you should shop around or even imply to the dealer that you are shopping around. That might be an incentive for him.
