Thanks owenwalk, those are fresh off the boat with door protectors still in place. The Voodoo Blue one has the optional ($1,895!) TRD 16" w/BFG A/T's. See Corey, the Ti w/black steelies is available...it's you.

Bob, no steelies
I saw them today, and for $650 you can get the nice sodapop can ones.

My manager just bought a new 4Runner I learned today, as she has alwasy eyed mine.

I bet if she had known she could get one of these for $10K less, she might have gone for it.

You were right Bob, they told me today that all the ones they will be getting in are decked to the hilt.

Best to order one the way you want.
Cough, cough, June

They have a nice thick catalog showing all of the stuff you can get on it, some port installed.

The Con. package adds for $1,800 side view mirrors that are powered and with little lights in front.
Plus side tinted windows and rear backup sonar that beeps you if you get to close.
My friend Andy's Ford F150 has that.
That is an $1.8K that I see no need to get.

No pricing yet from them on the factory "rock rails" they call them, but I saw some close up pics, and they are a little thicker than my Badlands sliders, and they have a very nice upward swept angle to them.

And they told me they are not advertising these at all.
Word of mouth mostly.

Corey the CQ also includes cruise control with steering wheel mounted buttons and remote keyless entry. An aftermarket alarm could probably handle the remote keyless, but FJ has an electronic throttle control the might make aftermarket cruise installation impossible.

Rock Rails (Code 5L) are $575 MSRP/ $385 Invoice, available as a standalone PPO with full factory warranty. Well, unless you biff them in a rock garden.

Well I would have to lock/unlock manually for awhile until I get another DEI Python 650 alarm.

I like the one in the 4Runner, as I have not used a key in years to unlock or lock the doors.

I never use cruise, so I will not miss it.

I got the FJ fever

The FJ I saw seems to be part of the Classic Car Club in New York. It's not on the site, but I saw one sitting in thewir showroom twice already, but it was gone for a few days in between.
EDIT: Then again they don't list the Ford GT500 there, but you can see it in some pics.

We want to know.

Does that one have the locker?

Seating is awsome, room for 5 sixfoot + adults with leg room to spare.

Power to spare The white 40 got stuck, the brown one backed down to tug him out and started to get stuck himself. The FJ was able to free them both.

This one had an auto tranny, A-trac and RR locker. The new and improved A-track on the FJ has a "soft rev limiter" when wheel spin happens the power is cut in proprotion to the wheel spin insted of drastically being cut like on the 3rd gen auto.

I'll post up more next week, I have another chance to get out with Toyota and the FJ. This time they are bringing an ARB preped FJ can't wait to see it !!!!!

Sounds good Jake, looks like you had a blast.
I really think this rig is going to sell very well this and next year.

I hope it is quite capable though off road with just the rear locker and no A -trak for those who might want to cut down on ordering an extra lot of stuff.

Do you know if the stock stereo has the aux. stereo plug in front also for plugging in an iPod to play back tunes over the stereo?

Corey, yes the stock stereo does have the aux. input - I am pretty sure I saw that in the manual thread that BT17R posted:

Cool.

To be honest with you, I have not had much time to read that PDF file yet.
Been busy doing other research on this new FJ, been to the dealer twice earlier in the week, yada yada yada...
Sounds cool though since that means you just plug the iPod in and crank up the tunes.

Now to find out how to mount the iPod into the rig.
My present GPS/phone/iPod holder no doubt will not work in the FJ.

Jake94, great pics and comments, thanks. Was this one of the Toyota ride and drive demos?

The ball is rolling Paul, but not finalized yet.
When I know for sure, everyone will

It all boils down to $$$, how much payments would be, ect...

Lets just say they can get me a great deal though, and yes, I did order one Wednesday, and they placed my order with Japan Thursday to be built and arrive in June some time here, and have factory sliderz (Toyota speak/rock rails) put on port side, 5 sp. auto, the infamous RR button on the dash, and the alloy wheel option.
It already comes nicely equipped.
Oh, Titanium Metallic is the color too.

Not thrilled that there is no all white edition, but I can live it it.
The other options make up for it.
4.0 engine, yes, I can finally pass someone if need be
Locker for trails I have not taken in my present rig, and a safer ride.

I have no idea yet though what the payments would be, as it is still out in the future as to when it gets here, and as each week goes by my down payment increases.

My 4Runner has been good to me, but to resurrect it to run 100% and be safe on the highways will take much more than I want to pump into it.
There comes a time to stop throwing $$$ into something and move on.

Thanks.
Hey, I would even be happy with a Rav 4

I just want something new and trouble free.

We all get new rigs eventually.

I have to disagree with the "leg room to spare". I sat in one at the Chicago Auto Show, and the back seat does not have room for 6 footers if the front seats are all the way back (allowing 6 footers to fit in front).

I will have to wait until I can drive one before making any decisions, but the back seat is SMALL.
