Angry I'm a soccor mom...

Yup, complete with the soccor mom badge on the back of my new rig. See, I had this really bad moment with electronics leaving work the other day. I tried calling my friend and my phone went bizerk and wouldn't work the rest of the way home. I stopped at the gas station on before I got home and leaving there, my back up sonar just wasn't working and I hit a damn concrete bullard. So, now I have the soccor mom bumper sticker... you know that infamous dent on the back bumper of almost all 4Runners and such? Yeah... So which rear bumper should I get? I want one with a hitch. All Pro, maybe?

Thanks Hab.
This will give you more ideas too.

Get a front one too.

I am waiting on the Warn, as you can keep the factory hitch and sonars.
Not sure about the others.

Well... I never got the factory hitch, so I need one with a hitch. I will be keeping the sonars and maybe adding a couple more. In fact, I was thinking about adding a couple to the top side of the rear somewhere. Maybe on the rack or something, but I figure I really like the sonar when it works, and I must have hit a blind spot in it or something. I also want it to run all the time in reverse rather then shutting off at 5-6 mph. Just in case.

BTW - I'm liking the All Pro and the Expedition One. I have never been a Warn fan, though I do respect the functionality of Warn. I always figures if I got an old beat up branco with rust all over it, I would outfit it with warn and ranchos and all the other redneck stuff... I just don't like all the emblems and logos all over my truck. I'm more for keeping it sleeper or stock looking.

I'm sorry...I dont mean to be rude, I love technology as much as the next guy....but is the fact that your backup sensor doesnt work, really an exscuse for backing into things? you have eyes...and mirrors...I know the sonar thing is a convienence, but I dont have one on my truck, I back it up fine all the time....
Sorry, Rant Off.

you should get this bumper:

I think this is the one from Peterson's 4wheel, I saw it the other day and tried to get some pics. Darn 3.slo couldn't keep up with it to get any side or front shots.

Yeah... ummm... I never had the problem in the Taco or 4Runner. But with checking all mirrors and turning the head around in the FJ, I could not even see that damn thing. So should I nut up and just turn off the sonar or use it and hope it works in the future? Needless to say, I have never had A-Trac either and never had a problem, but after trying it out, I don't see why I wouldn't use it in the future. It rocks! And so do the sonars, actually, when they work. Just a heads up, though. I might have found a blind spot for those things.

I'd say do some very controlled scientific tests in your driveway. lol. See if you can get the sonar to go whacky on you again... See if its worth using them or not...

I will most definately when I get my new bumper, but the sonar now just gives me two quick beeps when it is on. It ain't working anymore. So for the new bumper I want to move them farther out to the corners and add one in the middle. Then add a couple to the top side as well. I haven't seen anyone with them up there, but it may come in handy some day. Especially on tight trails.

i have noticed wit hmy sonar that i use almost every day backing up to my shop door , that you have to be moving slowly to get it to activate quick enough to realize your close. if your moving fast the sensors dont seem to notice it quick enough and instead of getting the slow beeping as your coming intop an object , it all of a sudden goes to fast loud beeping, of course signifing that your al lready on top of what ever was there. lol

yeah... I've noticed that, too and in the manual they say it is for only below 5 mph or so. But the thing is, I was going that slow. I think it just missed it from the angle it came at.
