FJ Cruiser launch date changed to TODAY!

Just got off the phone with a TMS contact. They bumped the reveal to today to avoid another debacle like the hail damaged FJ's in Kansas City. They were shipped to dealers nationwide beginning yesterday. You can see one at your dealer today unless you're far from the POE. Mine is still at the port becoming a PPO queen.

why did they have them sitting around in a lot in the first place?

In any case, the more important question is when do you get yours?

Just saw this, cool.
I called my dealer about an hour ago just for the fun of it, and they might have one in Friday.

For sure I will go down this weekend and test drive one.
He asked if I wanted to buy one, and I told him I already did

My two other contacts were out to lunch when I called.

This guy said quite a few have already placed orders for them, but they must not be members here.

My town of Auburn is a Toyota town, I see all 4 gens of the 4Runner daily here as well as all years of trucks.

I bet there will be quite a few of these running around, but you aso have to take into account there are something like 1.6K dealers nation wide, and only 46k may make it this year, so maybe not that many this year.

Toyota has always done it this way as a courtesy to small, outlying dealers. They don't want the metro dealers having an unfair sales advantage. They rail vehicles to staging and prep areas all over the country, then truck them to the dealers on the same day. This time was different b/c of the weather in Kansas City last week that totalled about 200 FJ's from hail damage.

Mine's still at the port awaiting PPO installs. Some options are delayed, so I deleted all the lights and TRD exhaust (but for other reasons) to speed things up by a day. But, the rock rails are a must-have, so I'll wait. Also, retail FJ's are being shipped ahead of fleet orders this time b/c most dealers have order banks and wouldn't be pleased to see a fleet FJ (me) driving by before they get their first one.

They'll most likely give them away to votechs and community colleges enrolled in the Toyota Ten tech training program.

I was picking up some parts at the dealer yesterday and was lucky enough to stubble across one in PA (Just outside of Philly). No time to stop and look I was on a tight schedule.

Just called my dealer, and a rep pulled up a few minutes ago in one.
It is not bound for the dealer though, but they assure me that they are getting in some before the end of the week.

Perhaps Friday, Saturday, or even a delivery on Sunday.
Either way I hope to park my rump in one and test it.

The black looked boring until i saw it in person. That one is sold. $28k+ with upgrade package 2 and mt. The steering wheel is nice and small. The rear lever for the door is clever.

Bob, you may have to trade the 'Runner in
Only reason I am getting one is the 4Runner will cost me to much $$$ to get it back to where it should be.

I hear the back is not the roomiest, but no worries.
Kids are grown, and there is plenty of room back there for my 15" sub, unlike a Tacoma I was thinking about earlier.
