I agree. I can't stand the thought of owing money for something you no longer have. I wheel it when it's paid for.

Most of us couldn't wait 5 years to wheel a truck tho'. I have a couple more to go but I'm just careful and have good insurance.

If you put yourself in situations where you're really likely to total your rig you are an idiot, although most times with good spotters you should be fine on a lot of trails. I wheel my Cruiser and make a good size payment on it every month, if I wanted a road rig I would have bought a station wagon.
