Ditto on the Ride. Sweet, awsome, cool and "ALL THAT".

Now if they just replace the gigantic blind spot panel with another window - this has to be in the works, but I have not read anything. I still wanted one real bad, but settled and ended up getting another dream - a used 100 cruiser.

Well, my FJ is 2 weeks old and I've logged over 2700 miles on her. Most of them traveling from Louisiana to New Mexico and back. I have the FJ loaded to the gills with my wife, two teenagers, 3 mountain bikes, gear and myself.

My wife and I love mountain biking.. in fact we are obsessed!!! Anyhow, on with the pix:

----------

Pic's from White Mesa outside Albuquerque, NM.... the photos do not do the actual scenery true justice...

I chose to ride my Titus Exogrid single speed for all but the last ride on Thanksgiving morning.

My FU FJ!!!

To get an idea of the terrain, can you spot the Mrs at the top of the trail in the photo???

I rode the trail with some local riders Thanksgiving morning while my wife stayed back at the ranch and helped my mum make a great T-day feast complete with New Mexican red chile stuffing...

I brought the Racer X and enjoyed granny gear!!

Stunning scenery, thanks for the pics. Makes my lungs burn thinking of pulling a fixed gear at those elevations, whew.

Nice pics Nate.

You have almost as many miles as me!
I have 3,300 or so, and have already made 4 payments on the rig

I hear you will get a lot more power right around the 10K mark, when the engine breaks in more.

Yeah, roundtrip for me to work each day is 28.8 miles, so I do not rack up a lot.

You're like me and my dad...drive a lot for pleasure and then forget how the heck you got so many miles on the car in so little time.

That FJ is stunning. It's nice to see more mountain-bikers, too. Too bad you're all the way out there...we could have ridden sometime.

Greetings everyone- new here to the forums. Long time Jeep fanatic about to purchase my first Toyota.

I put down my deposit on my TRD FJ (manual transmission + roof rack, tow hitch, arm rest) a couple weeks ago and it is scheduled to arrive in about 3 days. Since then though, I've stated to become somewhat concerned with the all-black color scheme- I have not seen one live, but from the pictures, the black seems to hide the FJ's beautiful lines- the same lines that really stand out on a Voodoo Blue with the white roof.

From the posts here, it seems like everyone is pretty enormored with the all-black, which certainly makes me feel better, but does anyone else feel that it loses something as compared to the standard color schemes or does the black make an already gorgeous truck look even better?

Just trying to make myself feel better about my decision ;-)

Thanks!

Hey JD, welcome here! Great first post. I have to agree that from the pics, surface detail seems to recede when compared to a lighter color with contrasting roof and flares. We'll have to see them side-by-side to tell. But you WILL learn to love the black metallic. It really pops with metallic and pearl tint in the sun. It's also only one of three (besides Titanium and BC) with a UV and scratch protective clearcoat.
