T100 Headgasket Recall Info

Hey guys,

I am looking at picking up a 1993 Toyota T100 with the 3.0. Not surprisingly it's got a blown headgasket and hydrolocked engine.

The headgasket has never been done by Toyota. Was the T100 covered under the recall? I hear Toyota won't cover it if the engine has more than 100,000 miles on it. Is this true? Others say they will always do it. I'm going to get the VIN this weekend and call Toyota to see what they say but I figured i'd ask on here first.

Yes I searched but I found very conflicting info.

I believe the issue was resolved by 1993. I've had two recalled head gaskets 1988 and 1989 4 runners with 3.0. Toyota will run your vin for you. Sorry about your luck and good luck repairing.

I know Toyota replaces the headgaskets from 1988 - early 1995.

Thanks for the best wishes.

Yes, it's covered. I got mine done. Just call your local dealer with your VIN handy. I haven't heard anything about the mileage clause.

Now here's some good info! Thanks.

Did you just have the headgasket replaced or did they do more?

Just the HG. It was running fine with very low miles at the time.

Oh ok well this one is hydrolocked and will need a new engine or need to be bored out, etc.
