I have decided to retire my old T100. So its time to start chopping. Here is the basic plan. Any input is welcome...

Take the bed off, shorten the frame behind the rear tires, make a flatbed that holds the bedbox still, and a custom bumper with a reciever hitch

a body lift is needed to get the frame even with the bottom of the body, I will most likely go with a 2"

make a snorkel of some sort. its scary going through some of the holes in FL and not having the intake relocated.

5.29 gears will be ordered soon
a front truetrac or aussie locker will go in the front
the lock-rite is coming out of the rear and the spiders are going back in and getting welded together.

a new front bumper is needed along with a different winch mount.

i haven't decided on suspension yet. I want a total chaos front suspension but thats $$$$$ so for right now i might stay with the ball joint spacers and trim the bumpstops to maximize travel. and in the rear its still unknown.

i want to find a set of michelin military tires. i was thinking 900-16s. they wear like iron and look awsome. and it will match the truck well once painted olive drab. but if i can't find those I might get a set of 35x10.5 SSRs

I saw a tjm (austrailian) bumper on a t-100 that was on e-bay about two weeks ago.Looked tough!!I was kinda wondering myself on the front suspension,I once saw a rancho/downey setup on a pickup 89 ish? that left the diff where it was, had new upper- a-arms and longer axleshafts to compensate for the angles...anyways, it looked sweet and it would save a guy the hassle of converting to solid axle.Wow,thats gonna be a cool project,next thing you know I'll be taking the torch to my T.Keep us posted..

 

Theres a guy who runs a 4x4 club down here in texas with his truck (taco) painted olive drab and it looks flat out awesome.

 

If you just wanna buy the perfect truck I know a guy ont he 4x4 wire board thats selling his totally built up T100-he has the total chaos conversion and much more.

Such a shame he has to sell, but the truckis perfect and he found out he had a heart condition and needs $$$. Think he wants about 10k, but the thing is mint!

 

That T100 is nice. But I am still on a budget (just about to graduate college :bigclap: ). Plus I want to build up my truck. I finally looked at the downey long travel kit looks really nice. And it comes with everything but axles for the same price as a TC kit without shocks or t-bars. I decided not to rip the bed off just yet so I could wheel this weekend, good thing I did my buddy got his dodge burried up to its frame. And I was the only one with a winch that works.
Does anybody need any chrome trim pieces, I took all of mine off this weekend. Also I have the stock grey T100 carpet available. Guess maybe I should post this in the classified section?

Yeah they are coming off. And I could sell them. But you don't want them. They aren't the shiniest or straightest things I have ever seen.

Hey all sorry there haven't been any updates recently. I haven't had time. Something about graduating college and getting a job. Whatever...
So I am going to try and rip some stuff off soon. Has anyone ever seen a T100 with a shortend flatbed? I am would like to hear any input about a flatbed. I have seen the All-Pro and I don't like it. I want something that is actually flat. I am also going to build in a roof rack of sorts to be able to haul kayaks. Thanks for reading.

I haven't even been reading a lot of forums lately.

No, but I'm itching for one. I want rid of at least a foot of overhang. Part of me wants to use tube for the uprights since the lines on the truck are more round than square, but without a bender I keep wondering how squared or angled hoops would look...and more if they'd afford as much protection. I also want as much level deck as I can get and some provision for hauling a canoe. I thought for that to cut a panel/trapdoor in the floor and use a receiver hitch setup to take a removeable "T" upright to support the stern...on the order of the extenda-hitch supports they make for that, just without the extra leg. Then without the boat I could still have the whole open bed.

 

You should get rid of that IFS and get a nice coiled SA
