Hey guys, I’ll try to make this as easy as possible for ya.

I have a 1997 T100 4WD with a A340F transmission, and the tranny is toast, completely gone, I’m super familiar with the 3.4L 5Vze because it’s the same motor in my daily 97 4Runner, so my question to you guys is, >> will any A340F transmission work? As long as its from a 4WD and goes to a 5vze?

also, do I need to pull the engine to replace the tranny or can I scrape by without pulling the motor.

also if the answers to the questions above are yes, I would be eternally grateful if someone could attach a link with some help/tips about pulling the tranny from one of these so I’m not pulling my hair out if I decide to go along with all this

 

I do know the t100 transmission bell housing is drilled and tapped to except the column shift linkage I also have a good 99 4Runner transmission I can’t use in my t100 I’m pretty sure they’re not interchangeable because the ecu’s are different also you can’t just use the 4 runner ecu in your t100
t100’s are pretty much their own animal I’ve found
