High Idle

My '95 T has a high idle when i first start it cold. It idles at about 1500 rpm at first and then gradually goes down to the normal 800-900 as it warms up to normal operating temperature. Is this normal? What could be wrong?

The initial high idle is also a good time to listen and find out if your fan clutch is working. On initial startup, you should hear the fan roar for 10-20 seconds regardless of ambient temp.
