I've been looking at the 5vz-fe for my 1st gen runner if/when the 3vz-e starts hurting or I finish school, whichever comes first.

I'm posting in the T100 forums because this question pertains more to the donor than the swap itself (I've done swaps before and researched this one so that's all pretty clear). This is a daily use, on road rig that needs to pass CA smog. Engine swapped cars in CA have to have the smog equipment from the donor vehicle. Which is where my question comes in,

do CA T100's have different smog equipment that 49 state trucks lack? I'm mainly concerned with any sensors that 49 state donor vehicles would be missing.

 

One of the key items the CA T-100 has is the EGR setup. Outside of that, it's pretty much the same.
