Recently my ABS light came on and stayed on. I took it to my local mechanic who tested/cleaned all the sensors, which all checked out. He thinks it is the actuator that is faulty, which makes sense because I do not hear the actuator pump self test on startup anymore. My question is: is there any way to test the actuator itself to see if it is faulty without installing a new one? I know it is a P.O.S system ( I am reminded of that fact every time it actuates as I hit the small pothole pulling into my driveway every day), but it is my daily driver and I want to get it fixed.
