Has anyone found a solution for replacing those pesky little wire clips that secure a lot of the electric connectors? I grab all that I can when visiting the salvage yards but here in NW Washington I don't have to many good options. The yards up here are pretty sparce for old Yota parts. The particular clip I'm searching for is the one that holds the TPS plug on. Mine is currently taped on, not proud. If anyone has found another solution please guide me.

Pretty much we all do what you do.

I have never found a source for these clips and last we looked into it even my Toyota Dealer is unable to get them.

If anyone can get these new please speak up.

 

Still searching for wire clips I was walking through the only bone yard within 100 miles of my house. They don't have anything remaining on the few mid 80's Toyota trucks but they do have an ok inventory of mid 80's Toyota cars. Low and behold the mid to late 80's canary 2.2 has, if not the same, a very similar TPS. So there I find a wire clips for my TPS. The cars they had on the lot still seemed to have a lot of parts available including the wire harnesses with the same plugs as my Runner. So I just stocked up on those little bits.

 

It looks like you found the part you are looking for but for future reference, the part number for the TPS wire connector is 90980-10711. It looks like this part is still available from the dealer.

Toyota wire connector part numbers are 90980-xxxxx, with the last 5 numbers being the number you see molded into the connector.

 

I have been finding a few odd parts on other Toyota models. It is a hit or miss thing.
