Trying to figure out what this component is?

I was recently replacing the oil on my 93 4runner (3vz-e) and there is a component right to the left and slightly below of the oil filter, small in size, and has one single wire coming from it. It seems to be attached to the oil pan, I was thinking it may send information to the oil pressure gauge considering my gauge hasn't worked in quite some time. The positioning of this component is not great, considering every time i replace the filter it tends to get oil on it. Replaced the oil today and the wire has come straight off. It has a plastic connector, all i can see is the male side, and can't seem to find what this is in my owners manual. Any help would be appreciated!

Oil pressure sensor/ or sender. A pic or two will help to verify 100 percent
