New A/C compressor problems
Hello all,
I recently put a new ac compressor in my 98 tacoma (4x4 5vfe) due to it making a horrible wining noise. The old one worked fine but by the sound of it it was going to crap out. When the new one came in it had a different receiving end on the wiring harness, so I took the old one off and put it on the new compressor. I bolted it on everything lined up perfect and went smooth. But now when I turn the ac on nothing happens the compressor doesn't engage. I checked the fuse and it's good and has power, but the wire leading to the compressor doesn't have any power when I ring it out with the trouble light. I can't find any other fuses, and I don't know if there is any relays. I'm decent at turing wrenches but not very good with electrical so any help or ideas of what might be wrong would be much appreciated. Thanks

**update** so I ran a hot wire from the battery the compressor and it stared working. So my harness wiring is good (I think). So does anyone know if there is anything else of than the one fuse, for the compressor power?

Dang it I was thinking that might be a problem. I didn't get the system vacuumed out. I have the recharge stuff but I know it can be risky if I don't get it vacuumed out all the way. Should I do that first?

I know most places will not warrant a reman compressor without a new dryer as well.
You have unsealed the system it needs a vacuum pulled to get all the moisture and air out of the system or it will never work.
Then by passing the safety switches and running a compressor is like starting your engine with no oil just to see if it works
