So here's the issue. When I turn the knob to turn on my running lights, sometimes they come on and other times, my headlights come on instead. What would cause this to happen? I'm fairly new to 4runners but I've worked on vehicles for a few years but never came across this issue. Thanks for the help in advance.

 

It must be that your just not used to the switch yet .

The only thing unless the switch or the wiring has some place rubbed the two wires together .

Is there some sort of alarm or parts of an alarm these have caused light problems

 

It has an alarm but it happens with the alarm on or off

 

Just the fact it is in the truck could be enough to cause the issue.

It all depends just how it is hooked up and wired into the light circuit.

Alarms and trailer converter boxes the 2 biggest causes of light problems.
