small jumpstart battery?

i jumpstarted a guy earlier today and i started thinking about something. is there any way to wire in like a small motorcycle battery with a switch so that if im ever in a situation with a dead battery i can easily just flip the switch and have my motorcycle battery feed some juice into my main batt? just a simple hot line to my battery and a ground connection with a switch somewhere in between i think will work. but im not sure

no reason you couldnt, but by the time you did it, it would be worth it to just buy one of those booster packs

That is basically what I have on my '85:

The batteries I run are not much larger than a motorcycle battery, in fact it is used on the '97 and newer Harleys.

And all I do is flip the switch to power the solenoid from the 2nd battery, wait a few seconds and then hit the key and it starts right up. Have done this countless times over the last 10 years.
