SiriusXM Antenna. What Do You Use?
I just recently switched back to SiriusXM after a few years of subribing to Pandora. In my other vehicles I just stream online using my phone since I have service 99% of the time. As for the 4runner I have cell service maybe half the time I'm driving it so I chose to get an actual satellite radio for it.
It came with the typical magnet mount that they always do. I currently have it stuck just above the rear door and the cable ran behind the door seal. My experice with magnet antennas, it will be ripped off the first time I'm in a tight trail. I'd love to install it in the a-pillar the way I have done my HAM antenna but because they pretty much have to have line of sight I need a different solution. I'd really like a rubber ducky style where the original AM/FM antena used to be. I've managed to find only one rubber ducky like antena but for $50 it's hard to buy in hopes I could get it to work in that location. I'd really like to stay away from large bulky antennas. Of course.something like this doesn't need a big mast either. Low profile is preferred.
I'm just curious for some more ideas. I'd like to see what you guys have done.

If you have a XM ready radio, how about this low profile antenna. https://www.crutchfield.com/p_220NGV...sXM-NGVA3.html
Or maybe a SkyDock

I have a Pioneer DEH-S6000bs with the SIriusXM SVX300 adapter. It came with exactly the same one you posted. While it is low profile, I'm pretty certain it will still find it's way in a tree. It'll probably handle small branches and bushes fine but I get into some pretty thick shrubbery. So far the only ones I've managed to find that I like are these two. I'm just unsure of mounting them.

With either one, you need to have it at cab height for best reception. If you have a luggage carrier on top, maybe adapt a mount to it or possibly add to mirror mount. You didn't say what vehicle you need to mount it on. Worse comes to worse, get a mag mount or shark fin type, and remove it for those times you're in heavy brush. Don't know of anyone listening to XM radio while 4 wheeling

I've used the flat round disk magnetic ones that came with the radios. Sometimes buying a replacement radio was cheaper than replacing just the antenna.

It for my 4runner. I tried the antenna on my dash as I've had good luck with it in the past. It doesn't like the 4runner though. No signal when facing north.
