Question Silence of the Horn..

'Sup, folks.

Been a while since I perused. This NYC public transportation has a way of diverting my focus away from the truck. Well, surviving in NYC has a way of doing that period. Anyway...

My horn is currently caput. Though I know it's not the fuse, I haven't done any in-depth searches into the problem. I was just wondering of this was at all common among the pre-current gen tacos. Mine is rebuilt and the airbag has fired in it before. Ever since I've had it the horn has seemed a might tricky to activate, you had to push it just right.

I'm pretty sure it's got to do with the switch at the steering wheel related to whatever accident it was in 'fore I got it. If there's any other problems you've noticed with your horn - outside of it sounding weenie-ish - do post. We can make this the busted Taco horn thread.

That's the last thing you guys need up there in NYC is more horns honking....

Get you a compressor and some train horns....you'll outblast the rest of the commuters, and probably get arrested too.

Here in NYC ( I'm in Brooklyn ) , I feel the best method for you is to keep your window open and when need be, scream/yell at the top of your lungs in order to alert traffic.

A couple of days ago someone pulled out in front of me and I missed them by a couple of inches. Needless to say after I slammed to a stop, I opened the window and let out a primeval roar.

Problem solved.

I accidently tried the horn without the radio blaring and heard the relay clicking. A trip to my local preferred discount auto store, one fruitless evening trying to install, plus the next morning and having decent light have resulted in a working, less weenie horn.
