Rear defogger and heated mirrors

Hello I'm the proud owner of my 3rd 4Runner and currently driving a 2004 limited 4.7l. I'm having an issue with my heated mirror/ re defogger system. The button used to activate the features will not illuminate upon being depressed. I looked in the manual and according to the fuse guide I checked 15 and 16 fuse which proved to be ok. I then tried different fuses to be sure and still the system/button will not work. Is it possible it's just a faulty button? Any suggestions on how to remove/replace the button or any other trouble shooting I can try in order to to fix it. Thanks in advance for any help

I realized through trial and error that the issue was an ice build up that was not allowing the rear window to completely close and this overrides the button. Got the window closed properly and to my relief the defogger/mirror button worked. Good to know little bit of info. Looking forward to put some off road extras on in the spring. Cheers villain 22

Np .. I had a 93 with a 22re motor and then a 97 3.4 litre... Both underpowered but the 2004 with the 4.7 is finally the power plant with enough power.
