Question about upgrading lights on a 1st gen

Ok, So I am thinking about buying a 1sr gen runner and I had some questions on upgrading the headlights. Does anyone make a replacement housing to change the lights to projectors so I can run an hid kit? I have a mitsubishi EVO and it has HIDs and I don't think I would ever drive with out HIDs again if I didn't have to that is.

you can do an h4 conversion for sure and get a high end H4 bulb, not sure about a full HID conversion though.

some ebay vender had some, I got a set for h4 conversion they had projectors that I removed. Were cheap and had to dump a couple hours into them to make them worthwhile. Shop around.

Have fun with the 4Runner, enjoy the resources on this site, and look at these:

If you have/had a mitsu Evo with HID's then I am assuming you want even more then the h4 upgrade the rest of us have done. Let us know how they work!!

After searching through about a gazillion posts regarding upgrading headlights, I've yet to find any mention of an aftermarket housing (?) that will allow changing the lights or bulbs WITHOUT removing the front grill or sidemarker bezels. Any idea out there? The reason I'm asking is in order to remove the grill from my '90 SR5 Ext Cab, I have to remove my SmittyBuilt front bumper!!

OK... HIDs installed tonight. This is with the Ebay H4 conversion (see elton thread) with the Diamond housing. I thought about going euro spec but said screw it and went with diamond.

These are the 55w 8000k kit. I've lost Highbeams but there is enough output i dont know if i'll miss it.

HIDs alone

stock hella 500s alone

Both hella 500s and the HIDs. These pics dont do it justice... there is a S-Ton of light...
