Please help!!! Im stumped!
CAN ANYONE HELP??? Just bought a 1997 3.4L 5spd 4wd T100. It is obvious that the truck has been off-road a number of times. For some reason the battery will NOT charge. I have replaced the alternator TWICE and replaced the battery leads. When tested at the alternator, my meter will read 11.9v to 12.2v, the same as the dying battery. I have a suspicion that it could be the PCM because the truck also "clicks" a few times on startup as if the starter is going bad, and idles at 2000 RPM. Im not sure if its related, but also the temp guage and oil pressure guages are INOP. As well, the blower motor is INOP. When I got the truck all the front lights were blown and broken (got swamped?) I noticed the PCM/ECU is in the passenger kick panel and can easily get wet. Before I buy one can anyone confirm that I'm on the right track, or tell me something else to check first? P.S. IM PULLING MY HAIR OUT!! MASTER TOYOTA TECHY'S NEEDED! Also, does anyone know where I can find an ECM? Everyone that sells new is out and I cant find a new one....

It is the Curse of the T100
Have at anytime you charged your battery with a charger.
Does the battery even hold a charge ?? A bad cell keeping it from charging??
Just what flavor alternators are you getting ??
Some of the major rebuild suppliers are down right junk
I don`t have the EWD for your year T100
If the alternators test good before installing then I would venture the harness is damaged , the plug going into the alternator is corroded ( maybe not visible by eye) 2 bad alternators it happens all to often
Something is keeping the alternator from getting the exciter voltage
open fuse , fuse loose in the block , or wire nuts or scotch lok connectors in the engine bay.
ECM is most often not in the charging circuit but with a T100 all bets are off.
The T100 curse strikes again

Working on OBII vehicles a code reader is a must so you know just what your truck is telling you .
The ECM should be mounted up behind the glove box parallel with the floor has yours been moved ??
Things will be different in the T100 even more so.
About the best thing I could say is find the Factory Service Manual for the year you have.
The Toyota Electrical Wiring Diagrams are a very big help working your way through a electrical nightmare . I myself will not touch a electrical problem without a copy for the vehicle.
You may wish to post where you live if I was close I would be glad to help in person.
It is quite hard find T100 parts because the short production .
Pictures would be a great help
Hang in there

Just look for damage in the harness coming out of the alternator.
These new alternators have been tested prior to being installed with a fully charged battery??
Even this plug can be corroded .
Does the charge light on the dash work ?? It should light with the ignition turned on.
Is this lit with the engine running ??
Loose corroded battery terminals??
Also were the wire comes off the B terminal of the alternator this can be loose at the alternator or at the point it attaches to the fuse block.
Main Ground wires should attach to the engine block and to the body on the inner fender.
Good fuses can be loose in the socket causing things not to work.
Work through one circuit at a time.
