The old switch-aroo. Part compatibility?

I know this has been beaten to death but I've searched for a long time and haven't seemed to find anything that helps me. It seems most info on this is only for older models. Anyway I'm going to switch my gauge cluster out with a tach unit. This is for a 96 tacoma 3.4 V6. I can find lots of 96-97 4runnner clusters w/ tach but no tacoma clusters. So my question is will the 4runner cluster be plug and play? What potential problems would there be with this swap. Do all 4runner cluster have 4x4 indicator lights. thanks

I honestly have no idea on the solution. I do know sarcasm will rarely get helpful replies.

I do know that your thread title is too vague thus a lot of folks probably don't bother to view it.

You should try something like

"Gauge cluster swap compatibility from 4Runners to Tacomas?"

Good luck.
