If they are anything like the stock foglights on my old '05 Tacoma TRD they would border on being worthless. I replaced mine with a set of PIAA 510's, they out out a much better beam pattern. Hella 500's are also a great choice IMO.

Go with Hella Micro DE's.

They look like this:

I replaced my OEM's with them. Huge improvement.

Best price and service through YellowandBlue Lighting

These are true plug and play into the exisiting wiring. You just need to remove the existing bracket/light and replace.

I was stuck between the "OEM" ones and the Hellas for about a month. I finally decided towards the brand name and ordered the Hellas last night from yellowandblue. I've read that the Hellas corrode easily, so if you go that route grab some silicone. That's what I'll do unless i'm feelin froggy and decide to make splashgards.

I'd go with the hella kit as well. Looks like those have an adjustment screw though, which the hella kit doesn't.

My Hellas do have an adjustment screw. I got the kit through Yellow and Blue lighting on ebay.

You're right, I had to go look at mine. The adjustment looks different from the one above though...

Anyone have further experience with these Hella DEs? Just got my truck and must say the stock lighting pretty much sucks. I am hoping the previous owner put some POS bulbs in the headlights and some good quality bulbs will be a big improvement.

The OEM fog lights are pretty pathetic. Just trying to figure out if the $150 for the Hellas is money well spent.

TIA for any insight.

I put the Hellas in and I think it's a huge improvement over just the stock headlights. It was well worth the $150 for me

My factory OEM lights are Mirco DE's. The aftermarket models of the DE are similar but the housings are a little longer. Nice thing about this is that you can mod it to HID. The HID bulb is too long to fit in the OEM one but will work in the ones from Yellow and Blue. I love my lights. When adjusted they throw out a lot of light right in front. The OP's link was to a cheaper version. A version of the Toyota/Hella lights are found on many cars including corvettes so you can find them. The bracket is harder to track down.

Word of caution. I've gone through two sets of Hella Micro DE's on my '01 and all but 1 of the 4 have failed because of moisture/corrosion. The corrosion was so bad in two of them it literally destroyed/ate most of the rear housing, even *after* I prep'd, painted, and sealed the interior of the new set before installing them.

Micro DE's blow!
