The Mother Of All Lights

That thing looks crazy!! What a deal.....I really don't think its worth putting on your truck, seems like alot of work for one light. Is there a way that you could make it a portable spot light? IMO, you should just try to sell it on ebay, then take the money and spend it on something more useful.

Just get a 24V HO alt from a diesel truck it will put out the 28V you need when running and run a dual batt set-up so far as the 12V stuff goes you'd just need an isolator like they use for the 12V stuff in the truck cabs...
be careful though with a light like that it isint just the cops would could come down on you... the FAA and HS could get after you if you evera accidentally blinded a pilot flying or something...

Ok guys I bought the light.. it came with all the hardware converts and a big black box thingy that controls the light (orginally mounted in the cockpit of the chopper) it has a focus to adjust the beam pattern pencil to flood and than a small joystick to control the movement of the light. than an slider to adjust the intensity It is fairly heavy about 30 pounds for just the light and bracket.. My uncle has a semi so the power to run it so I will try it out tonight

Darn! sounds you actually got yourself one of those "nite-sun" units they use on the copper choppers... the game wardens could try to nab you for deer jacking... two counties over...lol

That light is awesome!! Use the 3 optima batteries as suggested and a 100 amp alt. Try to fabricate a base for the light so that you can remove it when your not using it. That is so cool though you gotta do it. It looks like a UFO landed in your back yard.

That's a true statement! Several years back a guy had a high output handheld spotlight and parked his truck in some trees and blinded pilots doing practice landings in F-18's down in Chesapeake VA...Guy got into deep trouble!
