lighting options for 1st generations?

was wondering if anyone knew if there was a way to swap lights (like those hid lights or something of that kind) into first generation toyotas. just looking for other options. My current lights just dont seem to be bright enough and i just wanted to know if anyone makes anything..or if anthing can be done to obtain brighter headlights while driving on the road. -thanks

do a search, you'll find plenty of info about HID's and what-not (try hidplanet.com)

without spending too much $$$, you can get Hella H4 conversions for most toyotas that came before '96

You might want to mention what you mean by "first generation Toyota", as Toyota's first car came out in 1936, and I doubt thats what your driving around

A cheap option $40 at Wal-mart you can score some Sylvian Super Blue Lights.I've run theses in my 88' 4runner, Have been dissipointed with all other vehicle headlights since! The are a whitish blue and light the road very well.
I have to run other vehicles with the high beams on to even come close to the lighting of the Super blues. Great buy 4 thumbs up for them!

Easy enough to install a relay wiring harness and a set of H4 halogen lights:

Ebay I bought some cheap 5$ ones after 22$ for shipping it was 27$ and they are pretty good I will see how long the bulbs last.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/aw-cg...m=150190485410

I had to cut off some tabs on the back with a dremel to make them fit right
the low beam is nice I am getting used to the blue light and the high beams work but I think I need to adjust them down a little,
when the bulbs burn out I am going to buy the normal none blue bulbe to put in.

You happen to have a pic of the light pattern on those? I cleaned the lights I have (regular sealed beam halogens), and they got a ton better, but I'm still getting overpowered by most anyone with fog lights.

Get roundeyes, hella, or bosch h4 conversion headlights.
then get 80/100w hella h4 bulbs.
then get 4crawlers wiring harness (if necessary, i didnt need it personally but you might)
my lighting is fantastic. my highbeams can light up an entire field for hundreds of yards, it looks like daylight.
you can even get 100/125watters but you gotta point them down alot so you dont blind other drivers.

Do a quick, simple voltage test of your headlights:

If you have more than a 1/2 volt drop to the headlights, you may be able to vastly improve your existing light output quite simply. I was able to get an 80% improvement in mine, just by installing a new wiring harness.
