LED Guage Light Install How-To
#21
Well, the MR2 is Crimson Red & it was Crimson Pink when I bought it back in 2001. Some very light wet sanding brought the color back, & then polish & waxed it. The truck is not too bad even though the clear coat is peeling on hood & roof some (common problem). The 1990 4X4 is Silver Metallic.

Alex, i used the second one. It fit in the places i used them, it was kind of tight in a couple of the spots but i just gently squeezed them together and they fit. I think all of those would fit. Now on your 2005 im not sure. Your on your own on that one sorry. Or else come on down to maryland and ill do it for ya.

For everyone's info, my 93 4runner used 6 #194s (two on the blinkers, and four on the spedometer, tach, center, and odometer) and 2 #74s (one each on the side for fuel & battery, and for oil & temp).
I found a couple of white #194 ledss from a local auto parts store, but no luck with #74s... noone just carries them in this town!!
Oh well... time to go online...

Thx for the writeup
Hey man thx for the write-up it helped me out alot since i had no idea what i was doing... i tried to go the cheap way with some cheap leds from v-leds but they arent to bright as i hoped... so ima have to order some others from autolumination like you... Once again thx for the post it helped me out.
-oh btw... would you happen to know why on the 99 gauges you cant change the color on the blinkers, i swapped out to purple but they just made a turqouise color...

not to be a d!ck but thats kind of funny. but yes i have a general idea, there is a green piece of plastic on the gauge cluster that make the original blinkers green, so youve got purple and green in the mix which is why you have a turqouise. I would try to find brighter bulbs or a different color because taking the green plastic of the arrows would be hard and once off the leds would be blinding. i have blue and with the green plastic on its still blinding. good luck.

Nice job and great write up. I wish I saw this when I had my cluster out. Long story short...bought my 4runner and failed MA state inspection 'cuz the CEL was blown! For all others...it's a really simple process and WYORunner has done the legwork in finding the bulbs! Way to go!
