Just FYI Tread

So I had an issue at the worst time . Hunting in Montana the heater crapped out on the first day. After getting it home and replacing the Relay and then the Resistor with no luck I was a bit lost . So a few days later I decided to use my on board air (converted AC compressor) to air up my leaking tire in the back yard .Using the truck is much easier then dragging the hose from the house all the way back there. When I hit the AC button I got nothing from the compressor . Then I got frustrated enough to start digging into the wiring . I found that after 15 years of beating on the truck it has a rather significant harness running through the passenger side inner fender well . Well it seems the 34 inch Swampers must have packed enough mud up in there over the years to breach the insulation and cause a short under the stock loom melting all the wiring together. I was going to source a new to me harness but they are few and far between these days so I decided to fix it all myself . I soldered in new wires where it was all melted and heat shrunk it all and then taped it up with about half a roll of Super33 electrical tape then loomed it real well and taped it again . I know probably overkill but so what .lol. Anyway it seems many of my gremlins have gone away . Moral of the story is keep an eye on that harness if you do a lot of offroading .
