issues and surprises
Short version of how things came to be.
Went on vacation. Get home and everything in the rig is dead. No doors, lights, radio, nothin'. Look under hood...NO BATTERY! Someone popped the hood and took my battery! No biggie. The good battery was locked away on a slow charger so they only got an old battery. BUT they cut the pos battery cable about 1/2 foot from the terminal and took that as well! WTF!?!?!?!?
Get some cable and butt connector and re-attach. Go to fire it up and get a constant clicking. Starter contacts i'm thinking. Okay, I can do this. Get new contacts from the dealer and get to pulling the starter. Finally get it out and what do I discover???
It's a freakin' remaned Bosch!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Here's my question.
Should I just drop the cash and get a brand new starter from Toyota (of Dallas)?
Also, when I went out this morning, there was barely any juice from the good battery (fully charged and all). I replaced the missing segment of batt cable with 4 gauge. The butt connector didn't fit the stock wire perfectly (way too small) so i had to do some trimming. Any ideas?
