Issue with power windows, 1993 sr5 pickup.

Drivers side power windows switch operates both windows properly but the passenger side window switch is clicking but not working. I pulled the switch and there is power going to it. I tried jumping the terminals without the switch but nothing happened.

1. Is there a definite way of diagnosing whats going on?

2. Is there a replacement switch out of another toyota that would plug right in?

3. Is there any available wiring diagrams for this?

Thanks, Brian.

High possibility that the ground side of the wiring is faulty, Mine get finicky now and then and I am just to lazy to delve into it.

There is a ground wire that goes from the inside of the door through the jam loom and grounds to the kick panel behind the speaker, Loose and tighten fixes it most of the time.
There is also the motor bushing and gear drive drying up, Grease them up.

The way those switches work is when the right door switch is in the neutral position there are contacts now closed that allow it to be controlled via the master switch panel.

Since the window works from the master switch you know the motor works.

If you seldom use this switch it is possible the contacts are just dirty so just cleaning them might fix your problem.

Since most times this door does not open and close as often as the drivers door less chance of breaking wires coming out the door.

With the switch unplugged it wont work from the master control .

Then if the door is open some years will not operate because contacts need to be closed in the door relay.

The Toyota Electrical wiring Diagrams Give you great info for trouble shooting these fun things
