Hey guys I was hoping for a little help as I’m rebuilding my engine and it’s come to my attention a lot of electrical is loose or disconnected entirely like this:
I was hoping to get an identification on the green wire specifically and maybe a solution as to finding a proper connector plug to re attach whatever it came off of!
I think, although very rarely, that the green wire connects to the 4WD indicator light on the dash. I believe the other side of it is coming out of the transmission. It comes out on the drivers side, goes up and over the tranny, and connects to the plug you've got there. That's the way my 87 4Runner was.
To the best of my knowledge, the other side isn't used. At least not on a manual transmission. I've never even owned an auto transmission vehicle.
No, I take that back. I had a 75 Pinto back in 81 and 82. I sold it, and the idiot that bought it blew the engine running the RPM up and dropping it into gear, less than a week later. Our XO made him finish paying for it though. He claimed it was bad when he bought it, but that didn't fly when they found out I drove it from San Francisco to Memphis, and the back to Yuma. I had witnesses to him revving the engine and dropping it.The XO wasn't impressed by him at all. That's the only auto trans vehicle I ever owned in my life. I'm a manual kinda guy.
